Class Space and Wait Lists

Can I join a class if it has already started?


If there is space in a class, and if the instructor has approved it, an individual can join a class late. In this instance it is wise to contact the school and inquire beforehand.




If I am placed on a wait list, what are my chances of getting in?


Unfortunately, there is no way to determine your chances of being able to join a full class. If a space becomes available, students will be called in the order in which they appear on the wait list. Should you be contacted to fill an available spot, you will be given 24 hours to respond, after which the space will be offered to the next person on the wait list. Please do not call the school regarding waitlists. We will contact you immediately should a spot become available.




Can I bring my friend to my class?


Due to limited school space, we must restrict attendance to students only.




Can I come visit or observe a class?


Due to our limited studio space, we do not allow guests or visitors to observe or attend classes




Am I guaranteed or saved a space in a class if I attended it last term or last year?


All students must re-register for each term/ plans taken unless they have already registered for all three months/ half year / one year in the one times(only works for traditional programs. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first served basis, so be sure to keep your course calendar handy! The schedule and website will tell you all you need to know about registering for the next term.





Materials

When do I have to buy my materials?


Our triditional course provied all the materials and most of skill courses as well. If somecourse description includes the line ‘materials list provided,’ you will need to purchase your own materials. You will receive the materials list one week prior to the start of classes. The school reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrolment up to one week before the first class. As a result, it is advisable that materials be purchased close to the start date of each class. The Lux Academy is not responsible for any materials purchased for a cancelled class.




When do I get my materials list?


ou will receive your materials list by mail, a week prior to the first class. You will only receive a materials list if ‘materials list provided’ appears in the course description. Alternately, you may but some materials from our store.




Does the price of a class include materials?


Yes, unless otherwise indicated by ‘materials list provided.’ This notice means that you will receive a list of materials needed for the class by mail, one week prior to its commencement.





Registration and Fees

What do I do if I want to transfer my child/myself from a program?


In order to transfer classes, you must complete the online transfer form or fill out a copy of the form in person. Please read our refund and cancellation policies in full.




What do I do if I want to withdraw my child/myself from a program?


In order to withdraw from a class, you must complete the withdrawal form or fill out a copy of the form in person. Please read our refund and cancellation policies in full.




Do I get a refund if I miss a class?


We do not offer refunds for any missed attence. It is the student’s responsibility to attend classes.




Are courses taxable?


HST (13%) will be applied to all courses.




How much is a class?


Our class prices are varied. The fee depends on the number of class hours, the materials needed, and several other factors. Please see the course schedule for the fee of your desired class.




How do I register?


You may register in person at the school,online.Simply find the course you want to take, select the appropriate registration form, complete and submit! The LUX Academy l accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard, cheque (payable to Lux Academy Inc).




Do you I have discount if I register a half year?


yes, we have a half year plan discount and a year discount plan,this is only issued for triditional crouse only.





Other

Can I become a volunteer or complete a co-op position at the Lux Academy?


Yes, we do accept interns and co-op students based on interest and previous experience. Download an application.




How do I get a job at the Lux Academy?

Do I have to wait with my child before a class starts?


we are general not taking any kids age below grade 6.However, we may have some workshop classes, If your child is under 8 years of age, they will not be permitted to wait alone before their class begins. We do, however, offer before-class care for a minimal extra cost. View details here.




Would I be able to obtain contact information for an instructor?


For privacy reasons, we cannot give out instructors’ personal telephone numbers, postal information or email addresses. To contact any of the instructors, please send a message to instructors at info@luxacademy.ca with the name of the instructor in the subject line and we will be glad to forward your message to the appropriate person.




Are there any requirements or prerequisites to becoming a student at the school?


For most classes, no prerequisite other than an interest in the arts is needed! For our more advanced classes there may be some prerequisites. Please contact us for more information.
